The hospitality of the arcade.
The décor is the natural consequence of the major choices that have led to embed the sea effect in the floors and the rock effect on the walls.
The house itself was already nicely dressed, therefore the furnishing had to be essential, functional and practical, well distributed in the rooms and above all of substancial quality.
Its impact had to be minimal, as slight as posssible and almost pass unnoticed.
The existing colour which was already so overpowering led to the selection of strictly white, lacquered or open- pore furniture to harmonize the reflections of the resin floors or the parquet veins in the sleeping area.
The neutrality of white, the elegance of the sofa in the living area, which is natural leather and strictly proportional like a gem embedded in this space, is an expression of reasoned order. Where it was possible we resorted to transparencies, mirrors and reflecting materials such as glass and polished granite.
Kartell furnishings like the table and the chairs stand out as much as Optik cubes and François Ghost mirrors: objects created by the well-known designer Philippe Stark, where the transparencies cancel the visual impact of the furnishings giving elegance all around.
The use of tinted mirrors between the bases and the kitchen cupboards, the covering of the peninsula and the choice of reflecting glass household appliances wanted to give depth to the environment recalling all the details existing in the false ceilings, floors and furniture itself to emanate a sense of familiarity with those who approach them.
The bed of the main bedroom with its floating effect gives the impression of moving hanging in the void suggesting an isolation which makes you sleepy.
The effect of the suspended moon on the ceiling, the starry sky and the perimetral backlighting of the room diffuse the refined feeling of relaxation and revitalizing rest.
There are still many details which coluld be highlighted, but we do not want to take away the surprising effect that the Pearl of Poets can generate in those who are going to visit these environments.
